ONE THING THAT WE ALL CAN DO

Last few days have been very hectic! Since the Mishing spelling is wrong so, we wanted to change our website to a correct spelling! At last we are able to finalise and name and that is www.misingonline.com Very soon, we will migrate to our new website! In fact I have already shifted our site to misingonline.com, but we are waiting for few more testing before we finally shut down this site and start www.misingonline.com !

During the process, one thought came to my mind! Why don't we start correcting the spellings everywhere we see the name of our community spelt wrong ? Here are my thinking what we should do:-
1. Wherever we see anyone using "Miri" to refer our community, we must send an instant reply asking to remove the word "Miri". Here is stanza I have composed which can be generally copied and pasted

Hi,
You are using the wrong word "Miri" to refer to Mising Community. "Miri is considered offensive and rude to Mising Community. We would appreciate if you could change the word "Miri" to Mising.
Thank you!

2. Wher ever we see Mishing word to refer to Mising Community, we should instantly send a comment, request to change the spelling to the correct one. Here is the paragraph I have started using:

Hi,
You are using the wrong spelling of "Mishing", the correct spelling is Mising Community. We would appreciate if you could change the word "Mishing" to its correct spelling Mising.
Thank you!

My thinking goes like this : <b> If we, Misings, specially us who are privileged to access internet, do not correct our own spelling and take the initiatives to correct the wrong spellings and reference of the offensive word Miri, no one from other community will take the pain to correct themselves.

Thank you for the comment.
We should start taking some smart, practical and achievable steps towards rectifying/removing the incorrect and spelling of Miri from Indian Constitution with correct spelling of Mising. Other wise our future generation may blame us for passing on the work to them.

yes...Mising is the correct spelling but lets see how to use it properly. for instance in the constitution of india there is no community called MISING but we are referred to as 'MIRI' and thats the reason our caste certificates still adorn the name of 'MIRI'. so atleast the people like us who know the right spelling have started doing it and I am happy that we have done it.
And also i dont agree that a website is all acessible to all. remember the youths who still dont know the basics of computer. so lets plan something which help us to reachout to everyone. like lets meet up or something atleast the members of this community.(misingonline.com) what say?

Most respectfully,i agree with your view point.It's high time we look into such matters pertaining to the mising community at large.It will be one giant heap for the misings if all the folks unite together under easily accessible platform;for instance platform like through this site(medium of world wide web),and discuss stuffs which really matters to the community.

Hereby,i call upon all my fellow misings to join us in this so called crusade( to say in my version) and do something breath staking job to get heard by the world.
Come and be a part of the change.

Thank you for the thought-provoking comment. I was thinking about that myself too. I have thought of something about that and we will exchange views.

Pranab,
With this Mising community, we should build up an opinion and lets be heard! A voice of one person may not be loud enough to get attention, but voice of a group of young, educated people using a website on a topic like stopping the word "Miri" might be quite loud to be ignored.

You are right.We see that folks have spelled mising as MISHING.The Mising Agom Kacbang has been using the correct spelling of mising since years.I guess we didn't pay much attention to this.

Anyways,it will be easy for us to urge our fellow misings to use the correct spelling of mising if you help passing on the message.LOL.And to omit the word MIRI,it's something out of my reach( to say personally) coz that process involves lot of political practices and we ie neither me nor www.misingonline.com has any political affiliation.Yes we can start discussing this ISSUE raised by you here..I hope the users will participate in this debate and i believe all will do.Start your forum regarding this TOPIC soon dude.

Pegu sir, yes we can do it but one thing is that on the paper we write Mishing instead of Mising.It's not a challenging task to correct the word as Mising.If we look back to our caste certificate issued by ALL ASSAM TRIBAL SANGHA it has been certified as Scheduled Tribes Miri community which is recognized a Scheduled Tribes under the constitution.So, the credit goes to issuer of caste certificate.
Please take requisite steps to omit the word Miri on the caste certificate issued by tribal sangha.
