Miri: We come across certain blogs posted by Manoranjan Pegu, Uttam Pegu, Bhaskar Gupit and others, where they have alleged that the nomenclature ‘Miri’ is usually taken as a derogatory term by majority people for our racial identity; which is in reality not true. One may perceive the term from different prospective with fresh mindset through a clean reflective lens.

Misings have migrated from hills of Arunachal Pradesh, there is no doubt. Misings too trace back their roots to Abo Tani or Abutani like many other Tani tribes in Arunachal Pradesh.

But, it is generally observed that Misings avoid having any interaction with other Tani tribes. Also other Tani tribes avoid Misings and also there seems to be mutual hatred and lack of trust between them.
