The deluge due to two major dyke breaches is throwing people out of gear with no sign of improvement in worst-hit Bedolong of Sishimukh in Dhemaji district of Assam. Reports emerging from the deluge hit Bedolong says, the Dhemaji district administration has not supplied relief so far, not to speak of boats to rescue marooned people to safer places, majority of whom belongs to Mising tribe. However, the Takam Mising Porin Kebang (TMPK), the student body has immediately responded to the nature's fury to prevent deteriorating public woes by supplying five boats to help out the people in distress. The TMPK team is led by its general secretary Mg Indra Kumar Chungkrang in Bedolong and adjoining areas where it is carrying out its benevolent mission. The district administration, meanwhile, is entrusting the entire responsibility to TMPK to continue their relief and rescue operations including distribution of rations and relief materials to deluge hit people in the region.
